HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLAIRE

Claire's first birthday approached with joy and a little sadness. Part of the sadness was not having her Grandpa Bud here to see this milestone. He would have been so proud to hear all about her party, her first steps, her delight in tearing open the packages, her love of ice cream and on and on. Celebrating Claire made me miss my own Dad so much. The other part is knowing how fast they all grow up. This milestone marks the end of being a baby and welcoming the inquisitive toddler stage. Saying goodbye to the exersaucers and rattles and hello to push toys and more "grown up" things. We marked her special day one week before her actual birthday. We were joined by friends and Grandma Pat at a local ice cream store. Claire's surgery was scheduled 2 days before her birthday, so we wanted to have the party for her beforehand. She had a great time and truly loved all the attention. I loved the special moment I captured between Tom and Claire. Happy 1st birthday Claire. We love you. xoxo
